I have a friend who has a solid business Idea that could potentially generate $50k in 6 to 8 months in its hot season. He's been working for people who owned businesses as this, and now understands how to run the business very well.
He started working for some of these people for 5 years now, and most of them are already wealthy while he's still struggling to actually pay bills. Fun fact: they actually paid him well, well enough to pay the bills and get buy, he was the face of the business of most of the people he worked for.
They put his face on billboards and posters and sells the service because of him, and 5 years later, some of them owns fancy cars and houses and this friend of mine doesn't.
Talking about a selling face
So basically he's decided to get his own start-up but will need some money to invest and doesn't have enough. So I decided to come in with some part of the money, so we can cook up our own start-up, and 4 days ago I was robbed.
In reality this is an opportunity to own a business with someone that understands the craft. We sat down to talk about the value of the business, what if needs to scale or grow and the potential cost.
We called a real estate agent buddy and he gave us some estimate of the area that we need and it turned out that we need a lot of money.
I introduced to creative concepts to the business and that could easily make us some money in that short term. It would easily plug in to the business and be the ultimate two-way machine to make us good money if we put in the work.
We all had it planned out, and already started planning towards a few months time, but again, we don't have the 100% money we'd need to pull this off.
An opportunity gone
If I sold Hive at 0.7 about 13 to 14 months ago, I could have been able to fund this business comfortably and then in a year I could have taken profit and bought back cheaper Hive at this point. Unfortunately that opportunity is gone now and I'll keep brainstorming another way to be part of this business.
The point I wanted to make is that one can never get rich working for someone else. Elon musk is rich because he employed some very good geniuses who will unfortunately never become rich enough to be financially free.
While it's not everyone who wants to be financially free, in Nigeria you need to earn X10 of what you actually need to be able to afford to own houses or properties or live a life of comfort.
My real estate agent was a struggling guy when I met him 3 years ago, but when I called him today to enquire of a property for the business, he stepped out of a fancy car and told us how his life has changed from being a real estate engage.
He now owns multiple properties and managed to actually do this in less than 5 years. My life was virtually the same from the last time we talked about business, but he's climbed up the ladder by actually cutting a name for himself in the real estate niche.
My point is that there's nothing as rewarding as giving your time to your own business.
You're compounding your efforts and it only takes time to multiply, but the biggest problem with owning your business is the funds, the startup idea and of course the time. This are very tasking commitments and not everyone can give it.
This is an opportunity for me to to co-own a business of my own as well, and to break that cycle, and getting to have someone who is one of the best in the game is also another blessing, but then Money is currently the biggest barrier so far.
I'll keep working hard. Basically I'm begining to feel the pressure to make it right, crypto opportunities are dwindling and this is even scarier.
