Hail fellow STEEM network inhabitants! I come before you with exciting STEEM news!
I'm writing this post to update the community on the progress towards getting SBD and STEEM added to payment gateway provider Coinpayments.net. You likely saw the article trend to the top spot on Steemit:
Let's Get STEEM and SBD (Steem Backed Dollar) Accepted on Coinpayments.net
As of a few hours ago I'm pleased to report that I've went ahead and paid Coinpayments.net to get started on implementing SBD onto their site! While initially listed as $700 USD to have a coin listed on their site I was pleasantly surprised when I clicked the link to buy it and saw it appeared to be on sale!
Not too shabby! $200 USD is a hell of a mark down in my opinion and hopefully they honour it! I hadn't yet sold any of the SBD awarded for the post yet as I'm not a big fan of selling SBD at only 80% of its worth so I paid for it in some of the Bitcoin I had saved up. Initially I'd moved the SBD over to Poloniex.com in order to sell them for Bitcoin to pay Coinpayments.net but decided against it when I noticed that they were selling at only around 80% of their potential value.. I'll hold onto them until the market can support me trickling them off around their proper price!
The total SBD made raised from the proposition post was $878 SBD worth around 1.2 BTC or $725 USD! Meaning that once I'd added the $100 USD I'd pledged to the cause we'd made up $825 USD! STEEM users /
have agreed to help pay the difference ~($175 USD) in order to get STEEM listed shortly as well.
Thank you very much guys!
Time To Spend Some Upvote Raised Funds to Help STEEM!
Going onto the site and filling out the form to apply for our SBD currency was pretty easy and for a total of around 0.824 BTC I was able to get the payment sent off to get Coinpayments.net for them intergrating SBD into their payment gateway.
At the invoice page, sending the BTC with my electrum client.
Note: Please do not send any BTC to addresses seen here!(The amount they wanted in BTC to add SBD and my electrum client sending)
Viewing the TXID on blockchain.info to check for network confirmation

More waiting this time on Coinpayments invoice page
(And more waiting... 2 confirms on BTC transactions is at LEAST 20 minutes)
Then... After About 20 Minutes... SUCCESS!
(Woot! Our payment to get SBD listed on their platform is complete!)
With that I've successfully sent the funds for the addition of SBD into the Coinpayments.net payment gateway! I'd like to thank the community for making this possible and hopefully once the others who pledged to help cover the remaining costs step forward and send their support we'll be able to get STEEM added to the Coinpayments gateway as well. I know has already contacted me in regards to paying the amount he's pledged so I'm just waiting on
and
to get their support pledges sent over and I'll go ahead and get the ball rolling on having STEEM added as well. venuspcs was down for 0.05BTC (which he actually used to vote on coinpayments.net for STEEM) and bernie and sigmajin were up to cover the rest. All and all only another $175 USD is needed and I'll get STEEM paid for on the Coinpayments site.
How Long Until SBD is Implemented on Coinpayments?!
I'm hoping Coinpayments.net have SBD added to their platform within the next week or so! Unfortunately I'm unable to estimate exactly how long it might take them to get SBD implemented though. STEEM is very new technology and very much different than your standard Crypto 1.0 meaning it's not as simple as copy and paste to get it implemented properly and working.
While in correspondence with Coinpayments via email they were wondering if a list of all the available API calls is compiled somewhere. Personally I do not know that such a list has been compiled and if it does infact need to be created I will do so shortly. Besides the STEEM github does anyone have any resources to share that can help me build and publish proper API documentation? Please leave links in comments below!
