Good day steemians.
It is wise to save our money. Precious treasure and oil are in a wise man's dweeling, but a foolish man devours it. This is proverbs teaches us. We must be careful that our goal in saving is not to be wealthy in order to obtain the status and power that go with riches.
Our goal is to assure that we can provide for our future needs and then, upon our death, direct our remaining savings into the work of God's kingdom. As we think about how much to save, we must be mindful of our Lord's intructions.
While we must take this seriously, we understand that Jesus was warning about senseless or greedy hoarding of riches. He was not forbidden setting aside funds to provide for our future care and prevent our becoming a burden to others.
