Hello, lovely steemians!
This week, I plan to post an article here every day! Today, I am going to share with you some photos of graffiti that I took in Reykjavik when I visited there last December, taking advantage of a 10 hours overlay in Keflavik.
This is my first participation in Monochrome Monday challenge, hosted by . Original graffiti that I share with you here were black and white, too. Taking photos of colourful art and then turning it into black and white would be counterproductive.
I took the bus from Keflavik International Airport and arrived at BSI Reykjavik Bus Terminal around 7am on Sunday morning. Then I walked around the city. My first planned stop was Old Harbour and on my way there, on Aegisgata street, I noticed this beautiful mural:
Another place, that was recommend to me to go in Reykjavik, was Skolavordustigur - a picturesque street, with many shops to get your souvenirs and other goodies from. As I mentioned, I arrived to Reykjavik around 7am on Sunday so by the time, I got there, everything was still closed. But, what I found when getting there through Grettisgata, was a wall with group of graffiti.
I like this one with what seem like simple scribbles - it reminds me of trilobites.
And this kind of malicious or horror story (at least from human perspective) reminds me a bit of Picasso painting, even tough I know, it's nothing like that :D
And here is the detail of the creative interpretation of a bird from previous photograph.
Reykjavik is a place where many street artist came to unleash their creativity. Sadly, I didn't have enough time (nor energy) to explore everything, but I hope to return to Iceland for a proper vacation.
Have a great week, steemians!
