This is my entry for #monomad photography challenge by

This is a female carabao or water buffalo feeding her young. In rural parts of the Philippines, farming is one of the main livelihood of people. Carabaos are essential animals to farmers especially in rice fields. They play a huge part in plowing the soil way back when plowing machines were not yet invented. They are the so-called "farmer's best friend" or sometimes "the most industrious" animal. During my elementary years, I remember the carabao has been the Philippines' National Animal since they help in producing the nation's number one staple food -- RICE.
