The Super Moon occurs when the Moon is closest to Earth and appears larger and brighter than normal full moon times. The blue moon occurs when it appears 13 times in the month . While viewers along the East Coast will see only the initial stages of the eclipse before moonset, those in the West and Hawaii will see most or all of the lunar eclipse phases before dawn."
