I have always tried to be a moral person. I have worked for companies that have been complicit in defrauding customers and one company's MD even ripped off HMRC and didn't report employee earnings properly. That led to a prison sentence. And I left the same company numerous times after going back just because I was broke. Their behaviour always made me angry and I let them know it!
But what is the point in being moral, and being stressed out due to criminal behaviour by other people? Looking at the way politicians and others flout the law and get nothing worse than a slap on the wrist should we all just give up on trying to be good and instead try to profit from the same behaviour?
They say crime doesn't pay but I think it's evident, when you look at how criminals live and compare that to how the moral people live, crime does pay. It seems when you want to be a good person you pay with your health in the long run...
