It’s only a few days before the start of the world’s most watched sport event, the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018, I’m really excited and I wait impatiently its launch because it’s the first time, after 20 years, that our Moroccan national team participate as one of the five representatives of Africa and one of the four Arabic teams participating.
I was 12 years old when I watched my country for the last time playing a world cup. It was France 1998 where the Moroccan team had shown their great performance against Norway, Scotland and even against Brazil. They were really close to qualify to the round of 16, and were it not for the result of the game between brazil and Norway they could have achieved the feat of generation 86 which had been the first African and Arabic team to reach the round of 16.
That’s why I’m happy to relive those moments and proud of this generation which is giving us this chance. So thanks to our Atlas Lions for this opportunity and as one of the 40 million Moroccans, I wish them all the best and success to bring us happiness and proud from Russia.
