تقع العاصمة بودغوريتسا وأكبر مدينة في الجبل الأسود في وسط البلاد، وتمتاز ببنية تحتية جيدة من ناحية المواصلات التي تربطها بكافة أجزاء ومدن الجبل الأسود، كما تمتاز بالتكلفة المنخفضة للفنادق والمعيشة وسيارات الأجرة، وتشهد المدينة درجات حرارة مرتفعة في شهور الصيف، ومعتدلة بقية الفصول، كما يمرّ نهر "موراكا" الهادئ فيها ليزيدها جمالا وأناقة، ويلحظ الزائر للمدينة القديمة في بودغوريتسا بصمات العمارة العثمانية، مع وجود عدد من المساجد، حيث خضعت لسيطرة العثمانيين في مرحلة من مراحل تاريخها
