Not a whole lot, but I do have several books out. I would like to record more but most of my time these days it spend proofing the audiobooks of another narrator, which is pretty fun. I also do book editing.
I think I know what you mean about your writing skills lapsing if you only listened to audiobooks. I think there's some sort of brain/body connection going on when physical reading happens (just like physical writing, as opposed to only using dictation software to 'write'). If that makes sense.
For instance, a writer I do edits for has dictated the series of books I've edited for him. But his other books in different series were hand-written (or typed). There is definitely a different 'sound' to his writing when his words have been dictated as opposed to physically written down.
