Everyone wants to be great, but very few know how to be. Some even think greatness is an inborn quality and some people are naturally "born to be great". Many have journeyed on the path to greatness but have dropped out due to the fact that they don't know what they are actually doing and sometimes because they lack perseverance.
To be great in life, oneust first understand the meaning of the concept. One must also understand the criteria one must fulfill to become a great person. Then one must work without season to achieve the goal of greatness. It is also equally important to draw motivation from people one perceives as being great men.
The concept of greatness is not hard to understand when you realize that greatness is relative. The person you perceive as a great man might not be a great man in my own books. This would explain why some people are regarded as great scientists, others will be regarded as great diplomats while some will be regarded as great artist and so on. I regard my father as a great man because of all he has done in my life. This doesn't mean you would regard him as such.
Greatness comes from being excellent in one's dealings, being someone to respect and hold in high regards, being someone who defies odds and logic. Greatness comes from one's unique approach to life, one's philosophy of life, the way one handles situations, the way one handles great responsibilities.

Uniqueness and impact are the keys to being great. The ability to think out of the box, daring to do the impossible, generating unique problem-solving ideas, changing other people's life for better and leading society to greater progress.
Follow in the path of great men who have changed the world as it was before to what we see now. This men came up with mind-blowing ideas which, though at that time can be believed to be crude, form the basis of everything we do in the "modern" world. Great people like Benjamin Franklin the inventor, Leonardo Da Vinci the artist, Charlie Chaplain the comedian, King Solomon the wise, Mohammed (SAW) of Islam, the Wilbur Brothers who invented the aeroplane, Marie Currie the scientist and lots of other great people that you know changed the world with their ideas. Their names are even more popular in their death than it was when they were alive because we have a lot to thank them for.
Dare to be great, don't give up even in the face of great odds and think out of the box. Help others grow and make positive impacts on their lives. These are the traits, that make great men great.
