Good and positive energy will ultimately be paid in the same coin. You cannot give thrash and expect gold; and you cannot give gold and expect thrash. The principle of giving is that, when you give you receive much more than you give because, the world works based on mutual and synergistic energy that ultimately goes on to radiate in various phases, stages and forms of life.

I think if we put as much effort into doing some good for others as we do into doing ills, the world will be a tad better and more and more people will wake up feeling good about themselves and that ripple effect, will keep returning to us in good ways. You have to put in to take out, because you can only take out what you put in.
Put in good into what you do, and good will locate you despite the increasing battles of life that just finds its way to make us less than humans.
