I was scrolling through a friends timeline and I badged into an argument between her and a friend. She was promoting swissgold and testified how she has earned a lot from it and plan to take it as full-time Job. The guy called her lazy and said that she won't go far in life with such work as others are working tirelessly to earn a living. This prompted me to ask him this question "What matters most in the mission to succeed ? Is it how hardworking you are or how smart you are" He is yet to reply me. I thought to myself that there might be a lot of people out there who think that in the world of success, hardworking comes before smartness, it's a big No.
Before I proceed,do recall that the topic says work smarter not harder, it doesn't mean that one shouldn't work hard. Now let's measure smartness and hardwork in practical sense.
AGRICULTURE :- Small scale farming requires larger human power and is more tedious but commercial farming which requires the use of farm machinery and less work is more productive.
OCCUPATION :- A barrow pusher works tirelessly and accounts for a little penny by the end of the day while a steemit member can make 150 dollars a day by mere writing.
EDUCATION :- A student can study day and night, reading a whole textbook in preparation for a test, while another student that is more informed concentrates on specific topics from which questions would be set,the latter will surely do better.
I could go on and on to prove that being smart supersedes working hard. Someone might ask what this smartness is all about and how to identify smartness.
What Does It Take To Be Smart
Smartness is not in the gene, anyone can be smart and smartness can be worked for and achieved like most other qualities. There are attributes that segregate someone as smart and attributes one can emulate to become smart.
