We love them for they were there when no one else was not. Saying No to them feels like being ungrateful and it hurts so bad when they start to become mad at us for choosing a different path other than what they chose for us. These are the people that can ruin your life especially in this generation. Most of these people turn out to be parents and guardians. I have got mad love and respect for these people but it gets to a point where they will infect you with their outmoded beliefs as to how life has to be about acquiring a degree to secure a good job.

First of all, there is no such thing as a secure job. So long as the company doesn’t belong to you or your family, there is no guarantee for the future. Secondly, the world is gradually shifting from rewarding knowledge accumulated-based (graduates) to rewarding creative minds like Elon Musk, , Dan Larima and many more who are working day and night to make the world a better place. A classic case in point is when Elon’s parents advised him not to leave South Africa. If he had listened to them, there might be no SolarCity, SpaceX and Tesla Motors today. This doesn’t mean we should go about disobeying our parents by the way. It means if you have a dream today and you do not make it a reality, you will live to regret it so find a way.
The world is changing and it is time for everyone, the old and young to be actively involved in this change. Let us stop preventing the youth from exploring different avenues. We know as parents, it is your job to worry about the future of your children but in doing so, don’t end up limiting these kids by not allowing them to think and apply as great leaders of today are doing.
