This month people get to talk a whole lot about love. So, here's some very sound love talk.
I decided to do this for all those who are yet to be married. These are counsels from my heart packaged in a very concise form.
If You're not Yet Married, This is for You
When I use the expression marry up what I mean is that you marry someone who pulls you up.
So, I counsel you to marry up.
It's no news that your association can either raise you or crash you.
Therefore...
Marry someone who can pull you upward, inspire you to go forward and drive you onward in the fulfilment of your destiny
Someone who encourages you to be all God wants you to be
Someone who wants to affect this world somehow with the everlasting good news of God's Love
Marry someone who has respect for your God-given vision
Someone who can remind you that the culture of praying is necessary as a culture
Someone who wants you both to often hold hands and pray together
Marry someone who serves God and naturally inspires you to serve God better than you're doing
Someone who'll encourage you to fast often and study the Word of God as a way of life
Someone who will keep encouraging you to maintain a solid relationship with God
Marry someone who'll ask you questions about what the Scriptures say and want both of you to flip the pages of the Bible in search of the answers
Someone who wants to live their life in sync with the will of God (that is the Word of God)
Marry someone who enjoys the Word of God and the presence of God.
Marry up
If you're wise, don't marry down
Marry someone who prays or at least is eager to learn how to pray
Marry someone who prays fervently in tongues or at least wants to know how to pray fervently in tongues
Marry someone who hears from God or at least desires strongly to hear from God
Someone who dreams of "being more" for God and doing more for the kingdom of God
Don't waste your emotional energies on people who just want to be in a romantic cloud but have no respect for truth and its impact on the issues of life
Romance is good but yes, marry someone who also loves the truths in the book of Romans
Beauty is a disaster except she loves Jesus Christ with a passion and is eager to grow in the knowledge of Him
Being handsome is great only if he loves Jesus Christ with a passion and is eager to grow in the knowledge of Him
Marry someone who uses the principles of righteousness to succeed in their life and finance
They don't have to be a preacher or a pastor, but marry someone who REALLY loves Jesus
Life is not a joke... Marry someone who has a serious disposition to life and to the demands of their destiny
