I supported my now ex for the majority of our relationship while she was in school and battling early stage cancer. Shortly after she finished with school and her treatments were done she started showing signs of leaving. Sure enough within 6 months I was moved out and she was dating other people. It's tough to have someone tell you that they don't love you anymore, but that kind of betrayal on so many levels hurts. It's taken me a while to get back on my feet. I still think of her often but I will never allow myself to base my happiness on someone else. Life is crazy, you live, learn, and hopefully one day find what makes you happy.
