Life, silver linings and rainbows, storms emotional roller coaster!
Storms make us linger, hoping to experience something spectacular after big electric storms pass over, summers in South Africa weather can turn around quickly from thirty degrees Celsius to twenty degrees in half an hour.
You hear the rumble of thunder out to sea, then notice the lightning strikes coming closer up the valley. Tumbling clouds start to fill the valleys, with wicked thunderous cracks of lighting striking the ground. Reminds me of this past year; with the grim reaper throwing chaos into our family, a government taking a country down the road of recession, some days it feels like everything is starting to fall apart at the seams....
Saturday we witnessed a grand design sunset after the first storm had passed over, a lull, still some rain approaching with small birds flying in the opposite direction as if to avoid the next round of mayhem, these photo's were captured over a maximum of thirty minutes before next deluge of heavy rain. On some occasions we may be able to dodge the bullet, not always, forcing us into the position of having to smile or frown then carry on, Yup "Put your big girl panties on," as my sister often refers to in life!
Mother nature teaches us life is not always easy, turning a sky from clear blue, to a trecherous deep grey, bringing along with it high winds being destructive to everything in it's path, similar events occur with people one minute life is peaceful, the next we are thrown in turmoil, it is how we right ourselves and how quickly we adapt.
Life is full of surprises, not always pleasant so here is to wishing you a wonderful new week, enjoy the last month of this year. Look for silver linings to reap the benefits of the storms, days after storms bring lush new life into nature, first we have to endure the storm, be the optimist finding your rainbow, life is one long roller coaster ride of emotions, slowly designing our unique tapestry of life.
Around the corner sky was still dull grey, promising a surprise with one or two gaps between the clouds being shunted around by the wind.
Sunset starting to dazzle the sky in gold not quite the silver lining metaphor used
Turmoil still happening above the sun setting, wind moving clouds around at high speed preparing for the next round....
Turning to get back inside just prior to the next load of rain fell, there was the rainbow on the otherside of the garden, ringing in the end of the day.
