How to instill the importance of agriculture?
I want to instill in the minds and heart of my students that people in the agricultural sector takes a lot of hardwork to provide the life-blood of our country. I want them to feel how to be part in the agricultural sector by coming up with their product or output.
So, I instructed my class to plant a seed of any fruit and vegetables or they can raise chickens. As the fourth grading started, all my students have planted their seeds and raise chickens. Since, its now a month I told my students to bring their plants or chickens. As proof that they have cared their plants and raised their chickens they should provide a weekly picture documentation as proof or evidence.
I ask my class regarding their experiences while caring their plants and raising their chickens. One of them answered: Sir, its fulfilling that we can do a simple share of responsibility. That's it being responsible leads to greatness! The value of agriculture is not on how it contributed to the economy but on the people working and doing their share of helping our country. So, I told my class: What more can you give for your country? Therefore, you do not need to die to be a hero, be hero that inspire other people.
Reflection:
In conclusion, the agricultural sector is a key contributor for economic progress. It helps the government in strengthening and addressing the basic needs of the people from consumption of foods and production of products. Therefore, the agricultural sector is a solid foundation in achieving progress.
Let us continue to dream and hope that someday we achieve progress. Engaging the youth to realities of life is an eye opener of the truth that we are all responsible in doing our share of creating a better tomorrow!
