It's been a rough year for the Monster Energy Yamalube rider and a mishap at the MXGP of USA has forced him to end his season badly. He was supposed to debuting the all new 2018 Yamaha YZ450F at the MXGP event but a crash in practice on the Saturday forced him out. It has just been announced that Webb has gone under the knife following his thumb injury and that he will not be recovered in time for the Monster Energy Cup at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Vegas coming up in October.
I am gutted for him as he really looked good and was primed for a great comeback. He has shown some amazing speed during supercross this year and i think although disappointing he has to sit out now... it will be worth it to come back strong for the 2018 Supercross season.
Heal up mate and hoping you are back on a bike soon!

"I'm extremely bummed that I will miss out on the Monster Energy Cup, I've had success in the past at that event, and I was really looking forward to racing the new 2018 YZ450F under the lights in Las Vegas. With that being said, I will be getting surgery today on my thumb to speed up the healing process and make sure that I’m 100 percent for the 2018 season. Anaheim is the main priority right now, and I will be doing everything in my power to make sure I’m healthy and focused when the gate drops. Thank you to my awesome fans and sponsors for sticking behind me, and I will be ready to go come January!"
