Japan's first free MotoGP drill takes place on a wet track. Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez appeared as the fastest in this session.
Marquez recorded a best time of 1 minute 55.418 seconds in training sessions at Circuit Motegi, Friday (13/10/2017) morning local time.
Marquez's closest competitor is the Aprilia rider, Aleix Espargaro. However, Espargaro's time record is 0.875 seconds apart from Marquez's.
In third position there is Pramac Ducati rider, Scott Redding, which is 1.099 seconds slower behind Marquez. Duo Ducati, Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso, following behind him.
Maverick Vinales finished only ninth in this first session. Meanwhile, Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa each scattered in the position of the 19th and 20th.
The first exercise was also colored by an accident involving Cal Crutchlow and Lorenzo. Both riders are fine, but Lorenzo looks upset because of crashes after being hit by Crutchlow from behind.
