Dorna and FIM, announced the launch of MotoE World Cup and that Enel, a global leader in the sale and production of electricity, will be the main sponsor of the MotoE class. The same company is also sponsoring FIA FormulaE !!!
In addition to its economic engagement, Enel will also provide special fast electric superchargers to charge the electric motorcycles during pit stops. The motorcycles are manufactured by the Italian company Energica and Loris Capirossi has been employed for the development of the whole project.
The new MotoE category was presented in Rome with the racing version of Energica Ego to stealing the show. 11 teams and 18 motorbikes will fight for this special championship. MotoGP satelite teams Gresini,Pramac, Avintia,Tech 3, LCR, Marc VDS and Angel Nieto (former Aspar) will have 2 motorbikes each, while there will be another 4 teams selected from Moto2 and Moto3 with one motorcycle.
MotoE program expected to consist of five races with eight laps each and the first race to be held in Jerez.
