Tesla have been ruling the premium electric car market for a few years. They have been pioneers there, but competition is good. Tesla seem to be hitting a few issues with production of their cheaper models, but I hope they can overcome them. Meanwhile Jaguar have produced the I-Pace. It's yet another big car that will probably spend a lot of time on the school run to private schools, but it's a good step forward for Jaguar.
I wonder if car journalists will ever be able to appreciate a car that doesn't have a noisy exhaust.
To be honest I don't expect to ever own one of these unless Steem really moons. As it is I hardly drive these days, but we need at least one car in the family and a few hundred miles of range will get us just about anywhere in the UK. There are charging points everywhere these days.
I really hope our next car will be electric, but there's no immediate intention to change what we have and no budget for it. My little Hyundai i10 just gets used at weekends and my other half's old Honda CRV gets her to work a few miles away.
It's going to be interesting to see if Jaguar add more electrics to their range. Petrol and diesel are making less and less sense these days, especially if you live in a city like London where they get charged to use the city centre. Mind you, why drive when there's decent public transport? I know certain people prefer not to mix with the common mob when the go to Harrods.
My dream Jag would be this electric E-Type. Beautiful, but not too practical. This may be the one Prince Harry used after his wedding.
What's your dream car?
Update: Here's another review. I hope the rich will go for something like this rather than another oil burner.
