Dusty winter skies in Lanping during chinese new year. The winter here is mostly without rain. Sometimes it snows for a couple of days and makes the roads muddy and difficult to reach villages in remote areas.

It looks foggy but its actually dust from the dry fields. High up in the mountains the sun is strong enough to burn the skin. At night temperatures drop below zero.
The hotels in Lanping are very basic and don´t have flat screens (the televisions must be from the 90s) or heaters except for heating blankets. When I don´t meet with friends I buy fresh BBQ 烧烤 in the streets, Baijiu白酒 (stong chinese liqour) and cigarettes. Then I play a movie. In the morning I wake up and enjoy the view.
