The Greatest Showman.
More like, the greatest film of 2018 thus far.
I haven't seen a lot of films yet in 2018, but this one was one of my favorites for sure.
That is saying a lot because I really don't like musicals.
This film was only about half musical and half traditional movie, which is probably why I enjoyed it as much as I did.
A bit about the film:
If you are not familiar, The Greatest Showman is based on the life of P.T. Barnum, one of the greatest showmen the world has ever known.
He was credited with inventing the circus.
You have heard of the Ringling brothers and Barnum & Baily circus? Yea that was P.T. Barnum's creation many years ago.
The film starts with showing where he came from, basically having nothing and showing his rise to having it all.
Though you couldn't really tell him that as he kept pushing for more and more.
My thoughts:
Rent it, immediately.
The film is now at Redbox and I highly recommend watching it if you haven't.
After the film was over I found myself reading up on P.T. Barnum as he was such an incredibly interesting person in our Nation's history.
I easily give this film a 9/10 rating and possibly even a 9.5/10 rating.
10's are mostly impossible to get. :)
That should give you some idea as to how much I liked this film.
