Gal Gadot's 2017 Wonder Woman was without an iota of doubt the best film to come out from the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). One might think that's not saying a lot if you compare it to the caliber of the other films in the DCEU, but considering it was much more favorably received than the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)'s Captain Marvel, it is safe to say that it is a very good flick in its own right, within or without the DCEU.
With that in mind, anticipation for the sequel was highly anticipated, to say the least. The film itself will not arrive until 6 months from now; but for now, we can whet our appetite for high-flying butt-kicking female superheroes with the first Wonder Woman 1984 trailer that Warner Bros Pictures released just a couple days ago.
The trailer is great in many aspects, but my absolute favorite part is the epic music which is a cover of Blue Monday by New Order. Not only it is period-correct to the setting of the film, but the updated version seen in the trailer also beats perfectly to the trailer.
