In my opinion Top Gun 2 hype is about bringing that energy back to the cinema. Yes, I’m going to love the cheesy dialogue and the predictable plot because I dig that kind of stuff as long as it’s not a transformers 4 off fast and furious corny. But after two decades of CGI heavy blockbusters I think people are pretty excited about seeing the real life visuals which the movie is going to offer - for the time the Top Gun cinematography blew people away and to be honest, for that type of aerial stuff it’s never been topped.
That’s at least what a lot of people think like me! As for Tom Cruise, he’s never going to be a big star for younger generations - which is a shame since almost no one has replaced him apart from Will Smith and Chris Hemsworth.
