Careful What You Wish For
Well things have definitely taken a turn for the worst with this new Marvel film, which I'm renaming to Captain Mary-Sue.
You would think that Disney has learnt it's lesson from what happen with Star Wars The Last Jedi, they should by now realize what happens when you attack and insult your main audience. Which is just one part of the story here, a while back Brie Larson the actress who plays the role of Captain Marvel, told the public the she does not care what the opinion of 40 year old white guys, and has recently demanded that she will only be interviewed my a more diverse interviewers who fit her race and sex quota. Because forcing equality of outcome has always worked to well in the history of the world, but this is what intersectional feminism is all about. The fact that there is more white males who choose to become journalists more than women or other races who choose not to be journalists, somehow has no logical baring in the equation.
The other part of this story is that either Marvel or Disney seem to be going down the exact same road as the did with The Last Jedi, by pushing a complete Mary-Sue. Which is a character that is the best at anything and everything she does, this was due to the fact that no one even knows who this character is. The comic book version of her has been rebooted something like 6 times in the last few years, but fans are just not into her. The argument that this is somehow a result of men hating women is just lazy, and pathetic, because there are hundreds of female characters the fans love, ever hear of Wonder Women. This is just an excuse the creators use when their bull shit idea bomb, but it's quite unprecedented blaming your fan base for being bigots. Captain Marvel releases on the 8th of March and due to the communication of the lead actress, fans have expressed their outrage by giving the film 30% uninterested rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which the website has now disabled as of yesterday. You can be sure this was Disney putting their foot down.
"Set in the mid-1990s, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy's mightiest heroes and joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with new questions about her past and identity when the Earth is caught in the center of an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds." - Marvel Entertainment
"War is a universal language. I know a renegade soldier when I see one. It never occurred to me that one might come from above. Space invasion, a big car chase. Truth be told, I was ready to hang it up until I met you today." - Nick Fury
Captain Marvel gets a rating of 5/10
