Background on this post: This is an opinion/commentary on the year, highlighting certain pivotal changes in leadership that don't effect us at all - because 'anything goes' now.
We are already half way through 2022! Let's remark on the amazing events we witness and are left unastonished by daily:
After the death throes of the WSJ, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC (Twitter scandals, eviscerating leaks of their practices by a oft-maligned youtube channel), and more, the US government turned to Tom Hanks' credibility as a recognizable name to broadcast an image.
-- But Tom Hanks is fleeing from the law himself with troubles like tangled shoelaces, and hiding is about all he wants to do these days. Like Mr. Spacey who now faces the biggest battle of his career; like Mr. Baldwin whose text messages undoubtedly shine a piercing light on a barely loaded grand bruit vide.
Taking Matthew McConaughey to the White House shows that President Biden's leadership is not only faltered, it has utterly collapsed without return.
Because Matthew McConaughey represents an image produced by fictions on film!
And that is what is left of the credibility, authority, image and leadership of the US government. These side effects all resonate across the globe effecting every leader of every nation, showing just how low and how far they have come down from heaven's precipice. Torn down, no stone unturned and the remaining stones smolder with anticipation of scandal.
We know how it ends because at the beginning of every fire there is some smoke, but this all looks like a boiler with cracks on it, and the temperature going higher only means the casualties of authority, power, celebrity will only climb higher in 2023: more scandal, more unfathomable darkness exposed to the brightening glow of moonlight and guerilla journalism a la youtube and twitter.
Thank goodness for 2023, thank goodness for 2022 and 2021. The bold are greatly rewarded as they stamp out the past, relegating the brutish nature of the former to a pastime, a page long faded.
We can only hope Angelina Jolie will be the press secretary next so we can really get to the heart of the matter about Leo Di Caprio's cryptocharitable war to save rainforests, one child's heart at a time, and Jennifer Lopez' cagey nature.
