It was just announced a few days ago that Brian O'Halloran of "Clerks" fame will be appearing at the I Heart Horror Minicon at the VFW Post 4699, located at 575 Jernee Mill Rd. in Sayreville, New Jersey, on February 4th. This is a one-day event and runs from 12pm until 6pm. Tickets are $13 for adults and $5 for children aged 5 thru 12.
I Heart Horror Day has officially become a holiday on February 4th, as per the co-founder of the event, Chris Cuneo. With February being American Heart Month, Chris and his co-founder of I Heart Horror, Greg Cuneo, decided to make this an event to benefit Deborah Heart & Lung Center, located at 200 Trenton Rd. in Browns Mills, New Jersey. The Brothers Cuneo liked February 4th because it is the birth date of Alice Cooper and George Romero. The event will feature live music, author signings, vendors, raffles, food and a few more surprises.
Why a I Heart Horror Holiday? According to Chris Cuneo, the idea came to him due to his "bitter disgust of Valentine's Day; my love of the classic slasher film 'My Bloody Valentine'; my brother's and my obsession with Halloween; my obsession with quirky holidays; and Greg's and my Covid horror binge thanks to Shudder and newly found streaming services."
Of the bands performing, one is a female Misfits cover band and the headliner is an Alice Cooper Tribute band. In between acts, DJ Markus will be filling the room with horror-influenced sounds from his turntables. As their press release stated, "Giving to this special cause will thaw all our cold and icy cores, since heart and lung disease is what's really scary."
