"Avatar" is a 2009 3D science fiction movie directed by James Cameron. The movie is set in the mid-22nd century, where humans are mining a valuable mineral called unobtanium on a moon called Pandora, which is home to the indigenous humanoid species called the Na'vi.
The main character, a disabled Marine named Jake Sully, is sent to Pandora to infiltrate the Na'vi and learn about their culture in order to facilitate the mining efforts. Through a series of events, Jake ends up falling in love with a Na'vi woman named Neytiri and becomes sympathetic to their cause. The movie follows Jake as he tries to reconcile his loyalty to the human corporation with his growing admiration for the Na'vi.
