In a span of 3 days, I saw two movies, one is “In The Heart Of The Sea” and the other one is “There will be blood”……..both of these movies perfectly summed up one thing - The power oil holds!
The first movie depicted killing of whales and the story takes you back to 1820s. I won’t spoil the movie for you since it is a well-crafted movie.
The second movie, “There Will Be Blood” is an absolute master class, and it also revolved around oil (it takes you back to 1898).
The whole purpose of mentioning the two movies is to point out the human mindset. They killed whales and nearly wiped the creature out only because of Oil (whale oil was used for oil lamps etc.)
What the future holds for us humans is not a mystery. The ever increasing demand for oil means that if drastic measures are not taken, there will be blood for sure!
Our over-reliance on non-renewable fuel is increasing with each passing day(oil is a renewable source of energy but it took millions of years in making for the reserves). It is going to hurt us and our future generations. It is imperative that we understand that we can move forward by not fighting, but by holding hands.
Let’s cut the oil consumption and give earth some room to breathe!
