Nintendo has just announced that an animated Super Mario movie is in the works at Illumination Entertainment!
It is being co produced by the creator of Mario himself Shigeru Miyamoto, and Chris Meledandri!

Let's hope it turns out better than the live action Mario movie from the 90's.
