Human Cyborg Interface
In a world where parts of the body or the whole can be replaced, and mind can be augmented do you really want all the enhancements? What if you don't keep up to date with the patches, could be fun for hackers.
As the lines between human and machine blur the question arises what is human? If your entire body has been replaced and your mind is connected to the internet plus other networks how much control do you have left? Do you care as much about your body if any part can be replaced or upgraded?
Plus if we are continually connected with our minds, the AI will also learn, and become self aware at some point. Would such an AI be content to be limited to the various networks available to it or would it want to experience more?
Given that this film came out in 1995 it laid the groundwork for various visual effects and was the inspiration for a number of movies after including the Matrix. If you haven't seen this you should, it is an excellent example of what good Japanese Manga should be.
