I took this picture at the cinema called "Ibom Tropicana", when I went to see a movie titled "Wives On Strike" with my friend Mfoniso. Ibom Tropicana is located in the city of Uyo, the Capital of Akwa Ibom State in Southern Nigeria. One thing that thrills me about this picture is that captivating smile on my friend's face. When we once talked about the photo she described this smile as the million dollar smile. Mfoniso is an accountant who is working with an accounting firm in Uyo, I've told her about Steemit but she's yet to join, though she still finds it a bit difficult to understand how blockchain works generally.
Have you seen the movie, Wives On Strike? It's a Nigerian Comedy blockbuster produced and directed by Omini Oboli, starring the likes of Kehinde Bankole, Julius Agwu, Kenneth Okonkwo, Sola Sobowale, Chioma Chukwuka, Uche Jumbo, Kalu Ikeagwu and many others. We saw this movie early last year, yet it still seems like yesterday. This funny, comedy movie focuses on a group of market women who are determined to come together to fight diomestic violence, low participation of women in politics, amongst other family and societal issues by denying their husband sex. This justifiable cause pushed the women further to involve and engage the government and anyone who would pay attention to them in the struggle.
If you haven't seen the movie yet, do well to do so. It's quite a fascinating one. Also, anytime you visit Uyo, make sure you go see how Ibom Tropicana looks like, it's a beautiful sight to behold. Asides from the cinema which is being run by Silverbird, the complex also houses a shopping mall, recreational park, conference hall etc. Go there with your phone fully charged so you take some beautiful shots.
