So yeah, as we suspected it will happen Venom got delayed. Instead of September 4 the movie is now set to come out on October 15. I don't know what Sony thinks will happen in these two weeks, but nothing good will happen. It's not like COVID is suddenly going to disappear. They are in for an unpleasant surprise in my opinion. The more they delay, the harder it will get.
We already know that they are considering delaying Spider-Man: No Way Home, but we are hearing news from Disney. It is rumored that Eternals might be pushed back to 2022. I think Disney will let Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings cash at the cinema to prove their case against Scarlett Johansson and then push all of their movies another six months. Spider-Man: No Way Home has to fit the MCU narrative as it is part of the Multiverse trilogy with Doctor Strange 2 and Thor: Love and Thunder. It is going to be tricky.
But as box office continues to declaim I also see more big movies moving and small ones staying in the same place. What do you think? Are you disappointed?
