For the first trip across to Simeulue Island as Governor, Irwandi Yusuf goes flight with Muzakir Manaf. The man who familiarly called Mualem looks sat behind Irwandi Yusuf. Both of GAM’s leader flew from Banda Aceh to Simeulue Island.

As we know, Mualem and Irwandi Yusuf are former of Free Aceh Movement (GAM). Both of them were governor candidates who fought in Aceh election 2017.

In the Aceh election day, the six pairs contesting to the position and four of them were former GAM figures. They are Zaini Abdullah, former Foreigh Minister of GAM, Zakaria Saman, former Defense Minister of GAM, Muzakir Manaf, former of GAM's commander and Irwandi Yusuf, former propagandist.
Zaini Abdullah was close rank family to the late of Hasan Tiro, the leader and declarator of GAM. During the height of conflict in Aceh, all of them were fighting together for Aceh indepences.
