Hot Rods
At first, Hot Rods were based on inexpensive, older models from the pre-war period.
The weight has been reduced and a stronger engine was installed. In the 1940s, the returning US-soldiers from World War II and teenagers from wealthier families found a cheap way to have high speed races. The first Hot Rodders are thus the pioneers of Drag Racing. Nowadags, Hot Rodding is kind of an automotive subculture. The scene and lifestyle has changed but even today the Hot Rodders still have a certain rebel image.
