The First Dwarf Car
Ernie Adams built this first Dwarf car from refrigerators. I'm not kidding!
He used old refrigerators that had curved corners to make the car because at the time, Ernie didn't have the ability to shape the metal into the nice curves. In fact, almost the entire body was made from recycling sheet metal from old refrigerators. A total of 9 refrigerators were used in building this car. The radiator itself was made from reusing a refrigerator condenser. Ernie used a home-made hacksaw, chisel, hammer, and a stick welder to build this car. The engine is a 2 cylinder 13HP Onan. This one is not a specific replica of anything although it mostly resembles a 1928 Chevy sedan. Even though the car was completed in the early '70s and in the collection at Ernie's museum, it is kept in running condition and is still driven today.
The Museum is free of charge. There is only a donation box. Ernie Adams (the builder-owner) also has a website https://www.dwarfcarpromotions.com/
