Hi,
for today's #discotuesday, the # tag brought by the music master, , we will go to one of my favourite projects that, for today it is history, namely Daft Punk and their song Lose Yourself to Dance as it is for me pure new disco and funk.
Daft Punk brought some heavyweight support in this song, namely Pharrell Williams on vocals, Nile Rodgers on guitar, Nathan East on bass and John "J.R." Robinson on drums.
The song, that appeared on the Random Access Memories album, has two versions, the radio one on top of this post and the album version, where I picked this edit with the soul train cut as video. I think, even if the music is almost 30 years apart from the video, tit seems that both have been made for each other.
You might see Stevie Wonder in the Soul Train video. Yes, it was one of his performances that was used for this. Even if it wasn't their edit, we could see that the guys from Daft Punk made up for this at the Grammys from 2014, where Stevie Wonder played with the gang above. Not this song but you can hear some notes coming in during the performance.
Enjoy listening and dancing, as our old pal Nietzsche would say: And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.
