Some interesting songs again this month and a band with it's very own 'conspiracy theory'.
The Beatles have been very much in my thoughts over the past couple of weeks after stumbling across a couple of videos that revisited the story claiming that Paul McCartney died in a car crash back in 1966.
The first time I learnt about this was some years ago although I was already aware of many other rumors such as the back-masking used in some of their songs and the idea that the album covers for Abbey Road and St Pepper's contain many symbolic hints hidden within seemingly innocent photographs.

Keeping the story of Paul's alleged death in mind, the lyrics to George Harrison's 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' take on a whole new meaning altogether. Considering this song would have been written just three years after the event, I can imagine that someone would write a song, very much like this one, after the death of a close friend.
Whatever the real story may be, like most conspiracy theories, I don't believe we will ever receive a definitive answer, either for or against but regardless, The Beatles undoubtedly produced many successful songs that will forever be remembered and loved.
As per usual, I've listed below the Number One Songs that were topping the Australian Charts in 1969 and for convenience, I've provided a link for you to easily have a quick listen to the song and (if you're as old as me) wonder where all those years went.
