Imagine yourself in a 1967 garage in an American suburb. You and your friends got together to make music. Not auto-tune, billboard-focussed music, but real music, with simple, clear-cut lyrics about what matters in your 1967 life.
The music genre is called garage and the most obscure, underground and vibrant are called Nuggets! So forget about your fried chickens.
Now we get into our little time machine and travel through time. 50 years later this music still has the most vibrant effect you can imagine. It's only played at certain underground parties and makes the crowd go wild.
In this little series I will focus on some really intense Nuggets that I've found in time. Three at a time. I don't want to spoil you guys immediately.
#1: The Huns - Shakedown
Wow! The constant eerie, high guitar strumming will definitely get you goin'
#2: The Castaways - Liar, Liar
You might know this one from the British movie 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'. Classic.
#3: The Breakers - Don't Send me no Flowers (I ain't dead yet)
That's clear language I would say. Go home girl, I'm here with my friends, making music in a 1967 garage (or dancing to it at a 2017 underground party).
