At the end of this week I’ll be in the studio recording drum tracks for a new album with
.
I'll be recording under the guiding hand of a lovely producer called Dave Draper in his studio in Worcestershire with my best pal/band leader/song writer wizard @BenJanet. (He made all this happen)
This whole week has been very drum heavy for me, with everyday featuring rehearsals in some form as we have a live show on Friday too, in Leeds.
Last time I played live, supporting the superb Electric 6 at the same venue we're playing on Friday, my hands were utterly shredded with blisters.
My sticks were covered in blood.
I really don’t want that this time, so for the sake of recording I'm taking some precautions (mainly tape and talc) and maybe taking the hits easy.
Perhaps in the future I'll improve my stick grip/technique (of which I have none).
There’s been a good old build up this session though and I’m hoping I’m in good enough shape. If the shape lanky, thin and gangly then maybe I'll be ok.
At the moment I’m currently juggling my drumming commitments, family and video work - but after the weekend we can relax a bit, give my ands (and family) a short break/holiday. My heart say the Maldives but the bank balance says Scarborough.
Anyway, if you fancy hearing the band I play in, I'd suggest you have a listen to this previous release to give your an idea of what sound like.
If you're really interested maybe you'd like to watch this video. We shot it over a very cold November night back in December 2016, although we have had a significant line up change since we shot that glorious video.
