I'll be the first to say that I found Twenty One Pilots' new album "Trench" to be a bit underwhelming. Part of that is because "Blurryface" was an unreal album, and the other half because I didn't feel like a lot of the songs made sense. Sure, I'm not a TOP diehard fan, so I haven't taken the time to look at all of the underlying meanings that I imagine are in the songs, but as a regular listener I felt like the album didn't live up to the hype. With that being said, I do really enjoy "My Blood", and the music video that accompanies it.
If you've listened to the song and seen the music video already, you know what I mean. It has a clear (and pretty depressing) narrative, talking about the loneliness experienced by so many children, youth, and adults in today's world. The music video is pretty incredible, and it has been a long time since I've since one with the quality of story as seen in this one. Seriously, check it out below and you'll see what I mean:
