The Australian group AC / DC was formed in (Australia) in 1973, thanks to two Scottish brothers, Malcolm and Angus Young. The name of the group, with electrical connotations, are the initials in English of Alternating current / Direct current. When the group formed Angus was barely 15 years old, so someone suggested that he climb onto the stage dressed in school uniform. From that moment, that was the teaching of the band.
In 1974 the Young brothers moved to Melbourne, where they joined drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Mark Evans. As a singer they were joined by Bon Scott, who had previously participated in some pop bands. In addition, Scott brought to the band an aggressive style of misfits that accompanied them throughout his career. In this way, with the band already formed, they make a tour of Australia, starting to work on what would be their first album.
In 1975 appear in Australia the first two albums of AC / DC, titled "High voltage" and "T.N.T". A year later they signed a contract with Atlantic Record label, which publishes "High Voltage" for the UK, a new album that mixes themes of their two works in Australia. That same year they publish their first work properly British, "Dirty deeds done dirt cheap".
In 1977 Evans leaves the band and is replaced by Cliff Williams, with whom they begin publishing the album "Let there be rock", that aupó to the number one of the American lists. Part of the success is due to their spectacular live concerts and the energy they squander on stage.
In 1978, "Powerage" was published, which preceded the band's first big hit, "Highway to Hell," an album with millionaire sales and topped all the charts, winning numerous gold records. Shortly after the success of "Highway to hell", the singer of the band, Bon Scott appeared dead in London. AC / DC had to make up, joining the band Brian Johnson in the place previously occupied by Scott.
AC / DC's next work was "Back in Black" in 1980, which became number one in England and the United States, selling more than 10 million copies in the US alone. It is estimated that 44 million copies of the album have been sold to date, making it one of the best selling albums in history. From that moment on, AC / DC's previous work began to be sold as donuts, which led the band to take advantage of the pull on their next album.
In 1981 appears "For those about to rock", with which again they conquered the American market. A year later, drummer Phil Rudd leaves the band and is replaced by Simon Wright.
In 1983, "Flick of the switch" was published, with which AC / DC began a less brilliant stage in its history. The following band's work continues with the downline of sales: "Fly on the wall" and the compilation "Who made who" belong to this group time.
In 1987 they published "Blow up your video", with which they were launched to a tour in which Malcom was replaced temporarily by its cousin Steve. After the tour, Wright left the group, being replaced by Chris Slade, with extensive experience in diverse groups.
In 1990 appears a new album of AC / DC, titled "The razors edge", that arrive at number two in the American lists, being located in lists for more than a consecutive year. In 1992 they released a live album, "AC / DC Live".
The next work of the band appears in 1995, under the title of "Ballbreaker", again with Phil Rudd incorporated to the group. The album was a huge success, selling several million copies and being in preferential positions in the lists of the United States.
In 1997 they published a box with five CDs, as a tribute to the late Bon Scott. In the year 2000 they publish the album "Stiff upper lip", recorded in the study of Bryan Adams in Canada. To promote this album they toured countless countries, including Spain. Precisely, the brothers Young were in the Madrid locality of Leganés, to inaugurate a street that takes its name. It is given the circumstance that the plaque bearing the name of the street was stolen the same day of the inauguration.
In October 2008, breaking a silence of 8 years, AC / DC returns to the recording studios to publish a new work, titled "Black ice". The album contains 15 new songs, including their first single 'Rock' n 'Roll train'
And finally in 2015 leaves the last album and farewell tour rock or bust
