Wow. We haven't posted on here in a really long time.
We don't know who's actually even reading these anymore but were still going to do our damndest to tell our story no matter how hard life gets. It's been some tough years losing loved ones, continuing on the path of making and releasing music as an independent artist while juggling work and even one of us going on tour around the world. But we've made it happen.
Just this Friday March 6th we released a new song called "Know It All".
A song where we acknowledge that human desire to want to bottle up magic and treasure it like gollum. It’s the first of several songs we’ve written that unintentionally carry a similar tone message-wise. A reminder to savor the present. To love with no expectation because tomorrow isn’t promised. Don’t want to know it all, it’s impossible anyway.
It's available to stream on all digital platforms. But we have lost a lot of our faith in the digital platforms. Or rather, we've changed how we see them and how we would like to use them moving forward.
For the release of this song we tried something that we hadn't done before. 2 weeks before putting it on streaming platforms we decided to put it on Bandcamp and ask our fans and followers to go buy the song there and pay what they want. The response was insanely moving.
We couldn't believe people would pour themselves out in such a way. Some people paid upwards of $10 for just one song.
This is where the point of our post comes. To generate $90 (which is around the amount weve made so far from selling our new song on Bandcamp for 2 weeks) from just Spotify streams you would need approximately 30,000 streams. That is just the sad reality singer songwriters like us live with. The move to bandcamp was amazing and so uplifting. The support feels real and it is inspiring us to make the music we want, without worrying about what needs to fit into streaming playlists or whatever the heck people care about. Just making what comes from the heart and connecting with real people who really love the music and also care to help us to keep doing what we love. We think this is how it should always be.
Anyway, rant over. If you want to support us we recommend you come to Bandcamp and buy our song on a Friday, since those days we make every cent of whstever you pay, unlike the rest of the week when they take a small percentage of sales.

If you are still streaming on Spotify, Apple, etc. Just go look it up under Break Out The Crazy - Know It All, it's there.
Thanks to all who've supported on here.
We will continue to share the new music as we continue to release.
Much Love,
Chris & Katya

P.S. Chris made the cover art because we are firmly against AI album covers. We think it's lazy and sincerely inconsiderate to your fellow artist and fellow humans on this planet. If you want to make art just make it yourself no matter how long it takes, thats the whole point.
