Its been a while since I have shared some music on here - today I thought I would share a great new discovery of mine - Jazzanova. Those of you who follow me will know I have a wide range of musical interests - lately I have been exploring jazz and funk music, and have stumbled upon 'nu jazz'. Nu Jazz is a fusion of traditional jazz with a more contemporary modern sound, often adding a electronic feel.
Jazzanova fit in this category with their music covering a range of genres such as jazz, house, funk and electronica. They have released four studio albums (the latest album 'The Pool' was released this year). The album I have been thrashing is Funkhaus Studio Sessions'.
Enough talk, lets look at a couple of songs! Below is the song 'Le me show ya', which is a great mix of jazz and soul with a fresh and new perspective:
The next song I am definetly a bit bias with enjoying, as it is a cover of a great song 'Flashback', originally released by New Zealand band Fat Freddys Drop. I think they did a brilliant job with this cover offering a fresh and new perspective on a great tune.
Heres a live version of the original by Fat Freddys Drop if you want to compare:
Let me know what you think!
