Every so often, I stray from my usual musical stylings and delve deep into back corners of the web to find relatively unknown musical gems. I've found a lot of them that deserve more attention, so I post an album and short write-up here every day to help expose these bands to other music lovers. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Enemies - We've Been Talking
AKA BONER JAMS 2018. Seriously, these guys never get old. Every song is quality. A mathy, post-rock fusion group out of Ireland that's light on vocals, Enemies sets the bar for instrumental math rock, in my opinion. They also do some very cool stuff with looping pedals, allowing one of the guitarists to hope on another drum set and make some interesting changes in rhythm throughout songs. Listen to this album when you're traveling around a country for the first time, and you'll associate it with exploring and adventuring for the rest of your life. It's also great studying, writing, and art music if you're a nerd and into those sorts of things.
