Hailing from Dalarna, Sweden. Kristian Matsson performs under the stage name The Tallest Man on Earth. Some compare him to Bob Dylan but personally, I dont think Dylan could hold a candle to his composition skills. A former member of the indie group Montezumas, Kristian started his solo career in 2006, and has released four full length albums and two EP's since. Whats always blown me away about this dude is that he almost always records his vocals, and incredibly technical guitar on the same track. The video for "Revelation Blues" above is a live recording, not a music video, yet it's flawless. He's a classically trained guitarist so he does a lot of acoustic work, but still has plenty of full band arrangements I enjoy as well. It's easy for each to find his own interpretations to his poetic verses, but none would argue how much emotion is poured into it. You will never find anyone who sounds even similar. His album There's No Leaving Now is a must for anyone who considers themselves a fan of folk.
