My Twitch fam and I were tooling around with some ideas on how to "ruin" traditional Christmas carols. This is the second song of the album: Wreck the Halls.
Firstly, note that one of my favorite things to do is to every so slightly alter a chord here or a word there, completely changing the sentiment of a song - usually from happy to creepy if I can. As such, I tried to make this whole album as uncomfortable as possible 😅. A few of the songs, like , accidentally came out sad, but this one?
This one painted a picture in my brain. As the second song of the album, I just imagine Santa, floating high above, surveying the lands of his eminent conquest. Intense gaze, maybe slowly stroking his long white beard (THIS Santa is taller, skinnier and a bit more terrifying, therefore his beard is also wispier - like a wizard). It's a foreboding of the night to come.
