Of all the female pop balladeers, Karen Carpenter ( 1950– 1983) has got the most warm, rich and soothing voice of them all with a MILF-like, sad and sweet quality to it. It is so distinctive and recognizable that it's hers. Too bad she died early.
At least her legions of fans are keeping her spirit alive by trying to imitate her well.
Oh, and this is my favorite of all her songs.
You by The Carpenters, a cover song sung by Shane Ericks.
